The two artifacts above demonstrate my ability to plan a short term plan, as well as a medium range plan. Hopefully in my PS3 I will have the ability to plan something long term as well. The lesson plan demonstrates my ability to plan a short term lesson plan for the purpose of day-to-day student learning. It gives the students many different learning opportunities using many different learning strategies as they are introduced to the chapter. Later in the chapter, students are challenged more incrementally as they are required to dive into more complex critical thinking challenges and explore deeper inquiry questions.
The unit plan demonstrates my ability to plan a medium range plan. This unit plan follows chapters seven and eight, and I had the ability to introduce the Aztec and Spanish unit. This unit plan is extremely thorough, and shows my ability to make a plan for the beginning of a unit. However, during this practicum this original unit plan was modified day-to-day as I grew alongside my students. This original unit plan just barely reflects the plans that I was actually teaching because I realized that I had to adapt my planning as I taught each individual lesson. This shows my ability to accommodate my individual students as well as the larger groups of students.
